Adoptables
Adoption Procedure
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you can contact us at meximutt@live.ca for an adoption application to be emailed to you (or see adoption application page). If we feel there is potential for the adoption to be successful, you will meet the dog. If both parties are still interested in proceeding then there will be a home check to assure the home is right for the dog.
Ready to go home
Once your dog is ready to go home, we will ask you to update us after the first night. If you wish to return the dog after the first night we will reimburse you your adoption fee. If everything goes smoothly we do ask for an occasional update. If something occurs and you are no longer able to keep your Mexi Mutt, we are happy to take the dog back. If you decide to find a new home on your own then you need to update us about where the dog will be living.
Spay/Neuter
Most of our dogs are fixed before arriving in Canada. However there may be cases where the dog is not old enough. If this is the case you will be asked to sign a document stating that you will neuter/spay your dog once he/she is of age, at your cost. The adoption fee will reflect a discount as you will have the extra cost of spaying or neutering in the near future.

ROXY
Roxy is approx. 3 months old. She was dumped through the window at Chelsea's home while Chelsea was out. The story of where she came from will always be a mystery! She is sweet and beautiful, but very high energy!! We think she will be under 30 lbs full grown, but with not knowing her past it is hard to know for sure. We are accepting applications now, please send to meximutt@live.ca
Arrived: March 8th, 2010
Mika, Maya and Milo
2 females, 1 male. Their mother was rescued from the pound in PV while pregnant. She later gave birth to 12 puppies on Christmas Eve. Their father is unknown, but mum was a 20lb terrier mix. They are happy, and very playful pups! We are taking applications now.
Arrived: March 8th, 2010
Bubbles
Bubbles arrived at the home of a friend of ours during a rainstorm with her emaciated best friend. The other dog has been adopted, leaving Bubbles in need of her own home. She is about a year old, and 25 lbs, but she looks like a puppy, with giant ears and a playful personality. She is curious, polite and respectful and she knows she must sit for a treat or a meal. She enjoys wrestling with other dogs of all shapes and sizes and loves to bury her nose in the sand. Bubbles love affection but sometimes seems insecure or uncertain. This will change with consistent care from her new family. We are looking for an adult family without children to adopt this beauty. We are taking applications now, if you think you can give Bubbles the home she deserves then please email meximutt@live.ca

Brody
This little man is a sweetie! Brody is about 5 months old, a terrier mix. He was rescued off the street in Puerto Vallarta in November. He had to have treatment for a skin issue and parasites, but now he is a happy, healthy guy. He will arrive in Canada at the end of March. We are taking applications now.
Dax
Dax, is a handsome boy, he is very quiet but also likes a good play session! He looks like he is a big dog, but he is actually in between a small and medium size range. He was a stray trying to find food when Chelsea saw him outside the church. He was malnurished and weak. Chelsea took him home and discovered his sweet personality, but she also discovered he had Transmittable Venereal Tumors. TVT is something found is the warmer climates, it is passed from dog to dog through sexual incounters, hence another great reason for the pets to be spayed and neutered! The good thing about TVT is it is treatable. Dax under went surgury where the tumors were cut out and is currently going through chemo. Anyone interested in Dax, should read up on TVT before adopting. Dax loves his people, and everyone who meets him falls in love instantly. He enjoys the company of the dogs in the house and is extremely gentle with the puppies. However when he is walking on the street he makes sure all the dogs around know he is the top dog and will bark and act up around them. This probably stems from living a year on the streets and fending for himself against the other street dogs, but we are confident it can be corrected. He needs a home, where the people have the time and patience to work on his first interactions with other dogs. We are looking for applications that are willing to meet Dax on his first day of arrival and willing to foster to adopt, as all our foster home currently have many dogs at one time. We want his arrival to be as stress free as possible, and a home where he is the only dog would be the best situation. He won't arrive until late Spring/early Summer, as long as his chemo goes well, and he response positively to the treatment .If you are interested please email meximutt@live.ca
Please note, Mexi Mutt Rescue is not yet registered as a non-profit organization,
therefore we can not give receipts for tax purposes, but ALL donations
go straight to helping these dogs get healthy and into loving homes.
